13A-5-40(a)(2), Code of Alabama 1975. The court granted Ward's motion for severance, and Ward's case was tried first. The
jury found Ward guilty of the lesser-included offense of murder, and the court sentenced Ward to life imprisonment in the
State penitentiary. Three issues are raised on appeal.
